It seemed like the rest between Alexander Zverev and Jeremy Chardy on Wednesday on the Rolex Shanghai Masters, till Zverev's racket ran out of his fingers.
Chardy served 1/four within the deciding recreation of the second set, when Zverev, on the fourth shot of the rally, hit a forehand and by chance threw his racket into the stands. The German instantly stunned himself and apologized for his snowshoe, which landed on an empty seat and which luckily did no hurt to anybody.
The fifth seed recovers its most necessary gear and advances 7-6 (13), 7-6 (three). Zverev, who at present ranks eighth within the ATP Race To London, will then meet Russia's Andrey Rublev for a quarter-final place in Shanghai.
